Opera, the popular web browser, has partnered with MultiversX, a blockchain platform focused on the metaverse, to incorporate support for its expanding ecosystem. This collaboration enables Opera users to explore the decentralized internet using the MultiversX network directly from the browser’s interface. Additionally, users can engage in transactions using MultiversX’s native tokens EGLD or ESDT, connect with MultiversX-based non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and access decentralized applications built on the network.
According to Beniamin Mincu, CEO of MultiversX, integrating the network into Opera provides users with a more accessible entry point into the Web3 ecosystem. By leveraging the potential of Web3 through the Opera browser suite, MultiversX aims to simplify and lower the barriers for users to enter the world of Web3 and blockchain assets. This integration offers users a convenient way to participate in the new digital economy without requiring a deep understanding of the underlying complexities.
MultiversX will be integrated into Opera’s desktop browser and will also provide an Android experience that grants users access to MultiversX-based websites.
The primary goal of MultiversX is to make Web3 interoperable and easily accessible for newcomers. In February, the company launched xPortal, a Web3 “super app” that serves as an all-in-one platform for users to access decentralized applications and metaverses. MultiversX has also recently partnered with Tencent, the Chinese technology company behind the popular messaging app WeChat, to assist Tencent in developing its Web3 strategy.
