A new era of trading has arrived on Twitter. Twitter users can now directly trade stocks, cryptocurrencies, and other assets thanks to a partnership with eToro. The new feature will be rolled out on April 14, 2023, as reported by CNBC. This is one of the biggest updates in the history of the social media platform, and it comes exactly a year after the owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, started his quest to acquire the company on April 14, 2022.
Although Twitter already has a “cashtag” feature that allows users to view real-time trading data from various platforms, the partnership with eToro will expand the feature to include more instruments and asset classes, including crypto trading. Moreover, the social media platform will introduce a “View on eToro” button, which will take users directly to the eToro site.
According to eToro CEO Yoni Assia, a lot of their users interact on Twitter and educate themselves about the market. Assia further added that Twitter provides high-quality, real-time content about financial happenings worldwide, which makes the partnership a great opportunity for both Twitter and eToro. He said, “This partnership will enable us to reach those new audiences [and] connect better the brands of Twitter and eToro.”
Founded in Israel in 2007, eToro allows people to mimic the trading strategies of other users, making it one of the standout features of the platform. The partnership with Twitter is expected to drive growth for eToro by reaching new audiences and increasing brand awareness.
