At a press conference attended by top blockchain media outlets, Noones unveiled its plans to bridge Africa’s financial literacy gap with the Noones Academy—a groundbreaking educational initiative set to empower Africans in the digital economy. Ray Youssef, known for his dedication to economic inclusion and former CEO of Paxful, spoke passionately about the need for financial education across the continent. He is now the CEO of Noones, a financial communication super app launched in 2023 that connects people in the Global South to global financial systems.
“Financial literacy is the key to economic freedom,” Youssef asserted, emphasizing that Noones aims to equip African traders, entrepreneurs, and youth with the skills to harness cryptocurrency’s potential. The platform facilitates the fast and frictionless movement of money, eliminating the bottlenecks associated with traditional banking. Nnamdi Udensi, Noones Africa growth director, also spoke on the platform’s P2P trading framework, which is designed to provide accessible tools for individuals and communities to transact independently.
The Noones Academy promises to be a valuable resource, enabling Africans to grow their understanding of digital finance and build entrepreneurial skills. The app’s marketplace allows users from 190 countries to buy or sell Bitcoin and stablecoins using over 400 payment methods, while also offering a wallet for storing value and a messenger for peer-to-peer trades. The press conference also touched on Noones’ vision to empower the unbanked, offering affordable financial solutions that support cross-border transactions.
Youssef’s closing statements resonated strongly, as he urged Africa’s leaders and innovators to support initiatives like Noones that prioritize inclusion. “Africa’s path to economic empowerment requires a commitment to education and a community-focused approach,” he concluded, calling on African entrepreneurs to drive this transformative shift.
