Former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, commonly known as CZ, reportedly owns a substantial portion of Binance Coin’s (BNB) circulating supply, according to a recent analysis by Forbes. The report, which references forensic research conducted by Gray Wolf Analytics, indicates that CZ controls approximately 64% of BNB’s circulating supply, translating to roughly 94 million BNB tokens.
The analysis detailed that 80 million BNB tokens were initially allocated to the Binance founding team. Of these, the company still retains control of 46 million tokens. Combined, Binance and CZ jointly hold 71% of the 147 million BNB currently in circulation.
Zhao’s significant equity stake in Binance—estimated at 90%—alongside his extensive crypto holdings, has elevated him to the position of the 24th richest individual globally, with a net worth estimated at $61 billion.
