African cryptocurrency exchange Yellow Card has introduced a new payment option called Yellow Pay that enables users to rapidly and cost-free send and receive money using the Yellow Card crypto exchange platform with only a few taps on their phone.
Yellow Card has worked to make Bitcoin, Ethereum, Stablecoins, and other cryptocurrencies available to everyone in Africa since its 2019 launch in Nigeria. It presently operates in 16 nations and just surpassed one million users.
“This is more than just a money transfer service – it’s a powerful tool that will unlock new opportunities for people across Africa,” said Chris Maurice, CEO and co-founder of Yellow Card. “By enabling instant, low-cost transactions across borders, we are helping to create a more connected and dynamic Africa.”
It announced the completion of its $40 million Series B investment round in September of last year, claiming that this will allow the business to expand throughout the continent, grow exponentially, and create new products. One such new item is Yellow Pay, which conducts consumer transactions in USDT through the cryptocurrency trading platform of Yellow Card.
