Uganda Grants Free Zone Licence to Blockchain Firm

A developer’s licence has been issued to Blockchain Technologies Ltd by the Uganda Free Zones Authority that will focus on Blockchain and emerging technologies which will attract foreign firms in the digital market space.

The free zone license will create an environment where digital innovations will be commercialized with a regulatory framework.

Uganda will enjoy, among the many benefits of the free zone licence, once fully operational, Job creation, Foriegn Direct Investment and the advancement of ICT.

It is also in the news that Akon, the founder of Akoin coin, will setup a similar venture in his country, Senegal, and he has been given the nod to establish a “crypto city.”
