As part of efforts to make Nigeria the hub of digital talents in Africa and the world at large, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has commenced plans to train one million software developers in the country.
The software development training which is being facilitated by the NITDA through the National Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (NCAIR) in conjunction with other players in the Country’s FinTech sector is in line with the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy (NDEPS) of the Federal Government, and NITDA’s Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2021-2024) pillar of Emerging Technologies.
A statement released by the Head of Corporate Affairs and External Relationship, Mrs. Hadiza Umar said that the trainees would receive mentorship which will enable them to develop programming skills in Python for Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Blockchain, Robotics, and Data Science.
The statement which announced that the registration portal has been activated said that the training is open to young Nigerians from the ages of 15 years.
