Five cryptocurrency pioneers have been recently included in Forbes’ 2020 list of global billionaires, alongside bigger names such as Amazon’s founder, Jeff Bezos, who is listed as the world’s wealthiest person. Among these pioneers included Bitmain founders, Micree Zhan and Jihan Wu, Coinbase founder, Brain Armstrong, Ripple co-founder, Chris Larsen, and Square Crypto founder, Jack Dorsey.
Micree Zhan, with an estimated net worth of $3.2billion, is said to be the wealthiest crypto entrepreneur. And though he had been removed from Bitmain in October 2019, he remains the largest shareholder of the company.
In second place is Chris Larsen with an estimated net worth of $2.6 billion. He currently holds the position of Executive Chairman of Ripple, a Global Payments Network. In addition to that, he co-founded the online mortgage lender, e-loan and peer-to-peer lender prosper.
With an estimated net worth of $1.8billion, Chairman of Bitmain, Jihan Wu, easily makes the top of the list. The chairman is said to own 20% of the company and in 2019, he co-founded Matrixport, a crypto-financial services start-up.
Also on the list is the Chief Executive of Coinbase, Brian Armstrong, owner of the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the United States. He is currently estimated to be worth $1 billion.
Co-founder of Twitter and Square, Dorsey, is said to have an estimated net worth of $2.6billion. He is also reported to have launched Square Crypto in 2019 and its popular Cash app by facilitating sales of Bitcoin. He believes that it can become the internet’s predominant currency.
Other top billionaires trailing Amazon’s boss, Jeff Bezos, are Bill Gates, Microsoft founder, Oracle co-founder, Larry Ellison, Warren Buffett, CEO, Berkshire Hathaway, and Bernard Arnault.
Remarkably, Walmart heiress Alice Walton occupies the ninth place of top billionaires in the world, making her the only woman on the top list. She is said to be worth an estimated net worth of $54.4 billion.
