Emerging Technologies, Fireside Chats & More – What To Expect At the Nigeria Fintech Week 2022

What comes to your mind when you hear fintech? Metaverse, Bitcoin, P2P Payments, or funding in USD? Fintech is all of that and a lot more. No matter how little or how much you know about how the fintech sector works, Nigeria Fintech Week (NFW) 2022 is a must to attend.

Since the first edition held in 2017, the Nigeria Fintech Week has risen in impact and popularity to become the single most-anticipated industry event in the fintech sector in Nigeria.

The annual week-long event includes Tech Talks, Fireside Chats and Keynote addresses by well-experienced leaders in Cross-border payments, Cryptocurrency, Blockchain, Insuretech and other subsectors of the fintech ecosystem.

This year’s cross-section of speakers are industry leaders with immense global exposure, insights and relevance who will be sharing their wealth of uncommon knowledge and experience with all attendees.

The theme for the #NFW2022, which holds from October 24th to 28th, is “Navigating the Next Normal: Sustainable Impacts in Fintech, e-Government & Emerging Technologies”.

The 5-day event will kick off with TechSpark. TechSpark is the student-focused aspect of the Nigeria Fintech Week which involves Fireside Chats, Tech Talks, Tech Skills Acquisition sessions and a full-blown Job Fair for students in all tertiary institutions in the country.

After the first day, the NFW eases into in-depth industry panel sessions, discussions and product launches. These aspects of the event will be anchored by major fintech regulatory bodies in Nigeria as well as industry leaders and top-tier ecosystem media partners including TechCabal and Meta.

Founders, Regulators, Investors and other ecosystem players will gather around the important topic of corporate governance, ethics and sustainability and learn how to build a business and a legacy in the fintech sector. This will also feature a masterclass with established leaders in the industry as mentors for new and existing fintech founders.

A full day is dedicated to emerging technologies, where complex topics will be broken down into simple concepts that anyone can understand. The Nigeria Fintech Week will explore new technologies like Decentralised Finance, Metaverse, Cloud Architecture and 5G Network with a focus on how businesses can take advantage of them to grow and deliver better products and services.

Funding is a major concern for businesses of every kind. NFW2022 is set to adequately shed light on the global investment landscape and help founders to better understand the trends in the public and private investment markets post-covid.

This edition of the Nigeria Fintech Week will hold at the Landmark Center in Lagos with adequate provision for virtual attendees.

This year’s edition is free to attend, however, registration is required.
