On the 23rd of September 2019, the BRT train landed in Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), formerly known as University of Ife, the federal government owned and operated Nigerian university. The university is in the ancient city of Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria and was founded in 1961.
The arrival and first meetup happened at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho Oyo State.
Coin News Extra, the event organizers and Mr James of Flashcoin went round the school’s campus to interview some of the students and invite them to the OAU meetup.
The demography of the interview shows that only a few students know about cryptocurrency and blockchain but are willing to learn about it. The essence of the road trip is “to educate the future leaders (students and young minds) about cryptocurrency/blockchain and how they can leverage on the opportunities it offers.
The OAU meetup will will start today by 11 am at the school’s conference centre. The event continues to keep its word about educating the all and sundry.
There will be token giveaways, branded shirts, games and networking opportunities.
