Opera internet browser has added support for bitcoin payments to its latest version of Android app.
Opera announced the news today, saying that Android users can use the added functionality to carryout bitcoin transactions with the cryptocurrency wallet in the browser.
Some time in June, Opera released a web browser with a built-in cryptocurrency wallet for iOS users.
This is not the inclusion of cryptocurrency by the Norwegian browser, as the app has already been supporting (ETH). The Opera browser had already planned to include support for the TRON blockchain some months ago, and with this upgrade Opera has added the TRON Decentralized Apps (dApps) to its Android app.
The app has also been supporting ether (ETH) since December last year. At the time, Opera’s head of crypto, Charles Hamel, said that the firm hopes to “accelerate the transition of cryptocurrencies from speculation and investment to being used for actual payments and transactions in your daily lives.”
